Client: Jefferson County Commissioners
Year Completed: 2006
Project Cost: $850,000
The JC-22 bridge, locally known as the Clark Road bridge in Oliver Township, was a substandard plate-thru-girder bridge owned by Jefferson County. Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc. designed a replacement structure that complied with all state and local bridge standards.
GD&F designed the bridge project to meet current PennDOT standards involving a 54-foot single span, prestressed concrete, spread box beam structure with a composite reinforced concrete deck. The work also included bridge approach improvements.
GD&F did all preliminary and final design engineering work including the line and grade report; hydrology/hydraulics report; categorical exclusion report; type, size and location report; joint permit application; subsurface investigation; foundation report; plans, specifications and cost estimate and shop drawing reviews.
All work was done under the auspices of James McGee, P.E., County Engineer, in the required PennDOT District 10-0 format. The project was completed on time and within PennDOT’s budget.
